Tell us about your growing up years and family.
I was raised by my grandmother in Chicago Illinois.
Please share a favorite story about your early community service.
In 1971, while attending college, I volunteered at an inner-city after school program. It was chaos but it introduced me to the religious life and a life of service.
Why did you decide to become an Associate?
I was a member of Holy Name Province of Franciscan sisters from 1976 – 1985. I entered religious life because I was attracted to community life where all members were women of prayer and purpose. Over twenty years later, I became an associate to share my Franciscan values and practice with others in the Sacramento area.
How do you share your Franciscan values and spirituality now?
Presently, I live in Sacramento, California. I am very active in my parish as a member of the Faith Formation team. I am the spiritual director of the team and I share Franciscan values through prayer and presence.
What would you like us to know about being a Franciscan?
I want others to know that I am part of you, a Franciscan woman of faith.
Please share a favorite quote or verse.
Be still and know that I am God. Be still and know. Be still. Be.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I am forever grateful for being a member of this Franciscan family.
