Tell us about your growing up years and family.
I grew up in Los Altos, California, with a great family. My dad and I went to church every Sunday together.
Why did you decide to become an Associate?
I truly feel that living the Franciscan way is the only way. It teaches you to be present to your community and to help where needed. Very fulfilling.
How do you share your Franciscan values and spirituality now?
I now live in San Carlos, California. I share my Franciscan values through how I live my life in dealing with others.
What would you like us to know about being a Franciscan?
The Franciscan community is very giving and supportive. I always feel like I have joined another family and truly treasure their support.
Please share a favorite quote or verse.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I absolutely love my community. All the sisters and associates have become a family.
